Squeeze, roll, stencil, press, carve... This workshop is the perfect opportunity to discover (or re-discover) clay in all it's earthy glory. Work with either white or terracotta earthenware to create your choice of objects such as hanging ornaments, a plaque, small vessels or a crazy creature for the garden.
Jules will guide you through the dos and don'ts as well as offer handy tips and instructions along the way. Includes all materials, firing post-workshop and morning tea.
Get loose and creative! Explore the huge variety of ways of applying paint to a large (30x30inch) canvas, taking into consideration important elements of design - colour, space, line, shape, tone and texture. Bring along a variety of 'mark making' implements (the second drawer in the kitchen is a great source!) and get ready to be bold.
All materials included, plus morning tea and lunch.
Bring along a collection of twigs, leaves, grasses, stems... anything remotely 'bristle-like' from your garden, and enjoy this two-part workshop. The first hour will be spent making our very own 'bush brushes' followed by a fun session experimenting with these to create an artwork on beautiful mixed media paper.
Explore the beauty of working with gouache... a medium with remarkable versatility... the spontaneity of watercolour, the vibrancy and blendability of oil combined with the quick-drying benefits of acrylics. Using our feathered & winged friends (birds & butterflies) as inspiration Jules will guide you through the layers of building a colourful work on paper.
